AIDS is a disease which is caused by the HIV virus. Now a
day it has become a great threat for our new young generation. The word “AIDS”
consists with four letters ‘A’, ‘I’,
‘D’, ‘S’. The full meaning of AIDS is-
AIDS- ‘Acquired Immune
Deficiency Syndrome’.
Aids is not a disease. It is just some symptoms of breaking
our immune system which is caused by HIV virus. HIV is the main culprit for
AIDS. HIV is a type of virus which alters our immune system. As a result it
makes our body much more vulnerable to any type of disease and even a little
infection.
HIV is found in the body fluids of an infected person. This
virus may be found in the sperm, ovum, blood and breast milk. This virus may
pass from one person to another through these fluids. If you take blood of any
HIV positive person you may get HIV virus trough his blood. This virus may enter
anyone’s body through blood, breast milk and sexual connection with the
affected person. It may also enter into a child’s body through breast milk. In
addition, pregnant woman can pass this HIV virus to her baby’s body in the time
of pregnancy.
People who are HIV infected lose their immune system day by
day. As a result they get diseased so easily. Even a simple disease like cold
can lead him to death.
There is no cure of HIV, AIDS. Treatment can temporarily
slow the course of the disease. Scientists are trying to make HIV vaccine. It
HIV virus is usually seen among young adult aged 16-35 as of UNIAIDS report
2008.
