Relation or difference between HIV and AIDS

Sometimes some people get confusion to understand the relation/difference between HIV and AIDS. They ask- ‘What is the difference between HIV and AIDS?’

Well, HIV is a virus. The word HIV consist with three letter ‘H’, ‘I’, ‘V’. The full meaning of HIV is

HIV- ‘ Human Immune Deficiency Virus’

AIDS- ‘Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome’

HIV is a type of RNA virus.
When it enters in your body it starts breaking your Immune system by attacking the T-Cells of your blood. As a result your body starts to losing the self-defense system day by day and you become weak against germs and other virus and bacteria. When these symptoms are seen in your body, then you are called an AIDS patient. HIV is a type of virus which can stay in your body without showing any symptoms for a long time period like 2months-5 years. It can even stay in your blood without showing any symptoms for whole life. Until HIV virus shows any symptoms, you are not an AIDS patient. If you have HIV virus in your blood but no symptom shows, then you are HIV positive only. And if you are HIV positive you have a lot of chance to be an AIDS patient. Let’s make it more clear.

Suppose, Mr. John has HIV in his blood. So he is HIV positive. But there is no symptom of weakness or aids in his body. And his self-defense (immune) system is well. So he is only HIV positive but not an AIDS patient.(As his HIV virus has not showed any symptoms yet.) He has a lot of chance to be an AIDS patient. This is the fact.

At last, we can say that, only when symptoms are seen in an HIV positive persons body, he is called an AIDS patient. Otherwise, he is an HIV positive human who has a lot of chance to get AIDS. HIV is a virus that is responsible for AIDS. AIDS is later stage of HIV virus. HIV virus causes AIDS.
